A Night to Remember: The Official Launch of Imprisoned by Words

A date I won’t soon forget. In the heart of London, in the beautiful IOD building at 116 Pall Mall, my book Imprisoned by Words was officially launched. It was a moment I had long anticipated—and it truly felt like everything came together that evening.
The First Reactions: Emotion, Recognition, Connection
From the moment the doors opened and the first guests arrived, I could feel the energy. Familiar faces, strangers, friends, colleagues, and curious readers gathered for an evening dedicated to language, connection, and the power of words.
At 7:00 PM UK time, the livestream went live. At 7:30, the official programme began with Justine Gale as our master of ceremony. Her warm introduction was followed by a few words from my publisher, Chris Day, who shared some background on how the book came to life.
The Interview: Stories Behind the Words
Then it was my turn. Justine interviewed me about the writing process, my motivations, and the stories behind the words. Together, we led The Word Relay, an interactive moment that moved many in unexpected ways. Excerpts from the book were read aloud, and I answered live questions from the chat.
